Chocaholic Cupcakes

For the last day at my current (well, not so current anymore) job, I figured we could ditch the healthy school motto for a minute or two and treat the kids to these bits of chocaholic goodness.

Ingredients:

Cake –

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 tsp baking powder
  • 2-3 eggs

Buttercream –

  • 1 cup icing sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1-2 tbsp milk

Topping –

  • Chopped KitKat
  • Malteasers
  • Chopped Bounty
  • Chopped Snickers
  • Toffee
  • Edible glitter

Method:

  1. Bake the cake: cream together the butter and the sugar, adding in the baking powder, flour, and eggs, mixing well. Spoon into cupcake/muffin cases, filling them 2/3 of the way. Bake in the oven at 180Β°C for 20-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
  2. Make the icing: mix the butter and sugar together until crumbly. Add in the milk and mix until a smooth/buttery consistency. Spoon/pipe onto the cupcakes and leave to cool and set.
  3. Add the topping: add all of the toppings of your choice and it is ready to eat.
